Health and Safety Issues – The Tuck Shop
As from 1 June 2008 the Government have changed NAG5 Health and Safety which requires Board of Trustees to:
1. promote healthy food and nutrition for all students
2. where food and beverages are sold on school premises to make only healthy options available
We are currently in discussion with our school tuckshop who are categorizing items into foods that should be:
1. everyday food eg sandwich, rolls, yoghurt, fruit and vegetables.
2. Sometimes foods eg pizza, muffin, macaroni cheese and
3. occasional foods eg sausage rolls, chocolate bars, fries.
The Board wish to consult with parents and the wider community about foods they see as appropriate for sale in our tuckshop.
Please respond by letter, email, verbally to Principal, or though this Blog .
